CenUSA BioChar project ~ The Iowa Master Gardener Data Reporting Page

Is BioChar a good amendment for growing vegetables and flowers?
BioChar is a charcoal material, a byproduct of a process called pyrolysis.  Pyrolysis converts biomass into bio oil which can be refined to produce transportation fuels.

Iowa has three BioChar test garden sites: the Horticulture  Research Station, Ames; Fruitland Research Farm, Muscatine; and the Armstrong Research Farm, Lewis.

Data results collected by Iowa Master Gardener volunteers will be reported here.
